In recent years, it has been demonstrated that the immune system has a crucial role in fighting a series of complex diseases, such as infectious diseases, neurological diseases and cancer. For example, thanks to Immunotherapy, the life expectancy of patients with metastatic melanoma or lung cancer is incredibly improved. This is thanks to the contribution of great scientists and the ability of the Pharmaceutical Industry to bring to the patient new solutions born of Research. Immunotherapy always comes from experimentation and validation in animal models. Veterinary medicine can play a fundamental role in innovative therapies such as Vaccines. Like us, our friends dogs and cats get sick with Cancer and Infectious Diseases. VITARES intends to promote research in the field of immunology and create networks of collaboration between basic researchers, human and veterinary medicine. In order to provide the tools of knowledge and to promote the right information on emerging therapies, VITARES supports training activities at all levels, from schools, to patient associations and health professionals.
